As we come to the close of another beautiful academic year, my heart is filled with gratitude.


To our dedicated staff, thank you for the care, patience, creativity, and love you have poured into each day. Together, we were entrusted with the precious hearts and minds of children, and it has been a privilege to walk alongside them on their journey of growth and discovery.

This year was filled with smiles, laughter, wonder, new friendships, courageous first steps, and countless moments of learning. Every joyful discovery, every spark of curiosity, and every achievement—big or small—was made possible by the commitment of an extraordinary team.

Thank you for helping create a nurturing environment where children felt safe to explore, learn, and shine. It has been an honour to serve alongside you and witness the magic that happens when a community comes together for the benefit of its children.

    Returning to School After Holidays: Understanding the Adjustment 🎒  Why the Transition Can Feel Hard for Some Children Weeks of free time, flexible schedules, travelling time, spending time with mom and dad and other relatives plus fewer rules, became the children's new normal during the Holidays. Since children do not perceive linear time as we adults do, they feel these routines are, in fact, their new way of life. So much fun! time is up! Back to school, here we go, and their internal routines — sleep patterns, reward systems, and emotional rhythms — need time to readjust, recalibrate.  This shift isn’t just physical (waking up early again) but also emotional.  Extra support for some children who may experience strong emotions is needed. Welcome to Terra Viva! From One parent to another!

  Hi there, Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Andrea C. Lopez, and I’m the founder of Terra Viva Schools Inc. But more importantly, I’m a fellow parent who once stared at a very small pile of Montessori materials and one (very energetic) child—my own—and thought, “Well... here goes nothing.” Back in 2014, this entire community began with just the two of us. I was the teacher, the lunch lady, the janitor, and yes, the student sometimes too (kids have a way of turning the tables on you!). What started as a licensed little Montessori program on the second floor of a Church Building has now grown into something I could’ve never imagined: a vibrant, joyful community of more than 100 families. I truly believe that children thrive when parents feel seen, supported, and connected—and that’s exactly the kind of space we’ve worked hard to create. We’re not just a school or a program.
